Being the editoring chief of the European Alistair Campbell is one of our most experienced political commentators to date. He was once a very visual and vocal part of the new labour movement which started in the early 1990s. This brought about significant political success to the Labour Party through the late 90s into the noughties where both Campbell and Prime Minister Tony Blair set out a framework of Rule that lasted for a considerable time. Campbell is still politically active with his work in charities and other political organisations. His work can be read at www.the european.co.uk.
Campbell is a Yorkshireman, born in The West Riding. He is the son of a veterinary surgeon and he has two older brothers. Like many of his contemporaries he used the chance of attending grammar schools and the opportunities that they brought. He was able to study modern languages in French and German and took some time to teach in France as part of his course. He has had many varied roles before taking on the role of a news reporter for the Mirror Group newspapers organisation. He also spent time working as a journalist at a local level.
He is best known as the head for communications for the Labour party during its most successful period, much of which he was the architect of. Combined with the leadership of Blair he was instrumental in the Labour party achieving 3 successive terms for the first time in its history.
