Although the weather is getting cooler, it is a great time to go out and enjoy a walk in the countryside. Being out and about amongst nature is a great way to give yourself that little bit of calm that we all need right now, and during the winter months when moods can naturally be lower due to the decreased daylight, it is good for both our minds and bodies to try to get as much natural daylight as possible.
We are lucky to live in a country with plenty of lovely places to enjoy walking in – wrap up warm in these aran sweaters from Shamrock gift and take a flask of hot tea or coffee with you. Here are some of the best walks that you can enjoy in the UK…
Dartmoor – Full of ancient folklore and legends, Dartmoor is one of those places that will truly enchant you. This place feels like a real wilderness and can be like stepping back in time. Stroll across the moors taking in the wildlife and see the beautiful old woodlands and waterfalls that have remained unchanged for millennia.
The Scottish Highlands – For a true walk on the wild side, head to the highlands. In the winter months you will probably see snow and will be able to walk through this gorgeous area and see the stunning scenery of the mountains and the lochs. As well as this, there is plenty of local wildlife, from deer to the elusive red squirrel.
