Based on the desire of the players to distinguish their own character from that of the others, they have, in fact, introduced the possibility of purchasing costumes (called skins) and other aesthetic elements, which users are often willing to pay even at a high price.
You do not like all this very much: on the other hand – you ask yourself – why put your hand to your wallet to buy simple aesthetic elements when perhaps you have already paid for the base game? I understand you, and I also understand why you came across this tutorial: you were trying to figure out how to get free skins in Among Us, right?
I imagined it. After all, it is one of the most popular games of recent times and, indeed, many users do not like spending money on simple skins. Do not worry then: in this tutorial, I will analyze a little ‘all the possibilities available to be able to at least not get you to shell out more money if you have already purchased the title of Innersloth. How to get free skins on Among Us PC
If you have followed one of the paid methods related to my guide on how to download Among Us on PC, that is, you have purchased the Innersloth video game through Steam or Epic Games Store (or maybe you have obtained the game for free through one of the classic promotional initiatives of this’ last), getting free skins is a breeze.
In fact, contrary to what one might think, the version of the computer game already includes “basic” skins. It is possible to change the appearance of your character without paying anything (in addition, of course, to the “base price”): you just need to know “where to look.”
Well, all you need to do is start a game, for example, by pressing the LOCAL button first and then the Create Game button (starting from the main game menu), approach the laptop in the waiting room (lobby) and press the CUSTOMIZE key, present at the bottom right.
After that, all you have to do is click on the Skin item, take a look at the costumes at your disposal and press on the box of the one that’s right for you. That’s all: now you can use the skin involved in your games. If you want to change the hat instead, you can press the Hat button and make your choice from that point of view as well.
In short, it’s all very simple. However, it must be said that not all skins are free, as confirmed by the developers of Among Us on Twitter. This is because, as already mentioned, even on PC, there are micro-transactions to buy additional costumes and the developers use them to keep the development of the title active (it is a more than legitimate thing, regardless of the personal opinions of each).

If your goal is to go beyond the basic skins of the game, I remind you that as far as the PC world is concerned, there is content created by the community. Among the various contents available, there are also some, for example, the Sheriff Mod, which can vary the aesthetics of the characters (in this case, limiting the possibility of playing only with other users who have installed the same mod).
Of course, these are not exactly comfortable solutions or free from potential risks (we always talk about unofficial software to which we must pay the utmost attention), but it could be an interesting possibility for more experienced users in terms of modding, it seemed to me therefore right to mention it.

In fact, in the mobile field, the developers have decided to adopt a business model different from the one used in the PC world. More precisely, the mobile edition of Among Us is based on micro-transactions for the purchase of skins and does not include any entry costs: in short, it focuses everything on those.
Furthermore, contrary to what happens with titles like Fortnite, there are no possibilities such as the free Battle Pass or the like, so it is not really possible to get the skins related to the game without spending money.
For the rest, I advise you to stay away from anyone who promises you “magic” methods or alleged mods for Among US on smartphones and tablets to get free skins: you would only risk seriously endangering your device and the data it contains (this is scams or malware).
Ultimately, not much can be done with regards to smartphones and tablets, but I remind you that Among Us is still fun even without customizations of this type. Furthermore, if you really want to change the character’s aesthetics, you could easily think of going through micro-transactions, possibly setting a valid payment method and completing the transaction.
Finally, I remind you that, although it is not actually possible to change skins for free on Among Us from mobile devices, you can still change color and hat without spending anything. This can allow you to “differentiate” the character from others anyway, even if obviously it’s not exactly the same thing.
To change the color of the skin (obviously, you cannot choose the same color as the other users), just access the lobby, or the room that appears on the screen before starting a game, approach the laptop inside with your character area and tap the CUSTOMIZE button, present at the bottom right. After that, you just have to select the Color tab and press on the icon of the color that best suits you.
Also, you can press on the Hat tab to select an aesthetic element from this point of view. In short, some “light customization” to the skin can also be implemented totally free of charge.
